COMPANY DESCRIPTION:
Our client is a business-to business publishing house based in Johannesburg and is looking for a high-energy, results-driven Advertising New Business Development Executive who knows the freight industry, thrives on networking, and can generate new business.
JOB DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:
The persons primary responsibility will be new business development, selling advertising to potential clients. They will also be required to maintain an existing book of business, renew these accounts and maintain strong client relations.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sell new advertising to potential clients.
• Find new companies and contact them to understand their business and pitch promotional solutions.
• Meet prospecting and meetings targets.
• Maintain and increase level of existing clients advertising expenditure (small renewal book to develop client base).
• Update the CRM daily.
• Reach and exceed sales targets set.
• Attend client functions and networking as requested or needed.
• Travel from time to time (normally within SA or regionally as required to sell advertising).
• Liaise with accounts department when necessary regarding all clients in your portfolio.
• In conjunction with the ad-coordinator, follow up all outstanding advertising material.
• Liaise with ad-coordinator with regards to ad material.
• Ensure that all bookings for issues are signed off prior to the advert running in an issue.
• Stick to advertising, booking and material deadlines.
• Maintain companys ethical image and live companys values.
• Be presentable and conduct oneself according to company policy and guidelines.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Matric / Grade 12
• Marketing diploma or degree (advantageous)

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Previous sales experience, preferably in advertising
• Knowledge of freight industry
• KAM (Key Account Management) experience preferred, with the ability to convert account management skills into new business generation
• Dynamic personality, strong presence, loves networking, and motivated to write their own paycheck
• Drivers license and own reliable vehicle
