Fixed Term Contact (6 months) for a Admitted Litigation Attorney

Minimum Requirements

  • LLB or Equivalent Degree.
  • Admitted Attorney or Advocate.
  • 5 years experience in Legal Practice as Attorney or Advocate) at an appropriate level.
  • The highest level of proficiency in Private Law, Mercantile Law, and Public Law, and a high level of proficiency in Procedural Law and Criminal Law.
  • Excellent English at the highest level (both oral and written).
Summary of Duties
  • Providing legal assistance to the Director Litigation with Litigation/ Arbitration to Amendment of policies and procedures., etc
  • Assisting the Director: Litigation with expert legal opinions which includes but is not limited to
  • suggesting solutions to help resolve issues in a practical, timely, relevant and efficient manner;
  • providing input on rules, regulations and policies from a legal perspective; and
  • monitoring legal developments.
  • Assisting the Director: Litigation to mitigate legal problems.
  • Creating awareness and conducting training of the legal provisions that regulate particular portfolios and providing advice in respect thereof (for example the Intellectual Property Rights from Publicly Financed Research and Development Act 51 of 2008 (IPR Act); Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA); Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA) and the Promotion of Administrative Justice Act (PAJA) 3 of 200
