Job Description

Purpose:
The Administrator: Student Recruitment, provides operational, administrative and logistical support to the University's student recruitment function. The role ensures the efficient coordination of recruitment activities, stakeholder engagements, information management, reporting and communication with prospective students to support SPU's enrolment targets and Strategic Plan Objectives.
Minimum Requirements:

  • A National Diploma or relevant Degree (at least NQF06)
  • 2 years administrative experience in higher education, marketing, admissions of student recruitment,
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement would be an advantage
Knowledge and skills requirements:
  • An understanding oof the South African Schooling and Higher Education Admissions processes
  • Strong Administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Competency on MS Office
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
  • Customer-service orientation.
  • Driver's license an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the Northern Cape Province

Duties:
1. Recruitment Administration and Coordination
  • Coordinate scheduling, logistics and travel arrangements for school visits, recruitment events, exhibitions and career fairs,
  • Maintain an annual recruitment calendar and disseminate information,
  • Prepare recruitment materials and manage stock levels,
  • Track attendance and participation and maintain accurate records.
2. Prospective Student Engagement
  • Serve as a contact point for prospective students,
  • Provide programme information, admissions guidance and deadlines,
  • Maintain a student-centred communication approach.
3. Data Management and Reporting
  • Capture and maintain prospective student and school engagement data,
  • Generate reports on recruitment activities, lead conversion and trends,
  • Support analysis to identify priority schools and regions.
4. Stakeholder Engagement
  • Liaise with schools, counsellors, community partners and municipalities,
  • Coordinate invitations and follow-ups for events,
  • Support relationships with faculties and internal stakeholders.
5. Marketing and Digital Support
  • Provide administrative support for digital recruitment initiatives,
  • Update programme and admissions information as directed,
  • Assist with content gathering for communication.
6. General Administrative Support
  • Draft correspondence, minutes, event briefs and reports,
  • Process procurement requests and payments,
  • Ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.
