The purpose of the role is to provide prompt and quality service to customers relating to the service, repair, and maintenance of commercial vehicles, acting as an interface between the technical team and the customer to ensure cost-effective repairs and quality service is delivered to customers.
The Service Advisor provides estimated cost analysis of repairs and routine maintenance, and through effective communication with customers, determines the services necessary, predicts the time needed for completion, and stays in constant communication with the customer during the repair process.

Specific Role Responsibilities

The Service Advisor will be responsible to maximize service sales and maintain high levels of customer care:
To maximise service sales by using professional sales techniques
To ensure the security of cash taken
To ensure the highest level of efficiency and courtesy when dealing with the customer
To record customer's details and requirements accurately by means of a Job card
To record and update service history and vehicle details accurately
To carry out a physical inspection of the vehicle with the customer (damages to be noted)
Mileage of vehicle to be noted on the job card on inspection of the vehicle
To perform daily follow-ups with customers
To keep clients updated throughout the day regarding vehicle progress
To ensure completed jobs are not released without verified payment
To ensure all CPA documentation is completed correctly as required by the Law
To ensure the Company's quoting policy is adhered to
To ensure payment arrangements are confirmed prior to the commencement of the job
To ensure cash sale policies are adhered to

The Service Advisor is responsible for processing all documentation relating to warranties and maintenance within the Dealership. This will involve checking, allocating, preparing, and submitting warranty claims according to the required standards and processes.
The Service Advisor is responsible for providing an accurate costing and invoicing administrative service to the Dealership in accordance with Dealer standards and procedures.
He/she will need to ensure that profits are maximized and unnecessary expenditure is minimized in relation to costing and invoicing within the Dealership.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Qualifications and Experience needed:
Matric
Valid, unendorsed driver's license and the ability to competently and legitimately drive.
Computer literate
Knowledge of dealership policies and procedures is essential.
Knowledge of competitive motor industry.
Basic mathematical ability (numeracy)
Knowledge of relevant operating systems would be an advantage.
Experience in the Commercial Vehicle Industry will be advantageous
Experience with UD and Volvo Trucks would be an added advantage

Minimum requirements:
Highly self-motivated, energetic and able to maintain a positive outlook.
Ethical
Need to acquire thorough knowledge of the vehicles they are handling - not just technical specs; but also, information about the manufacturer's warranty, dealership services, OEM updates, etc.
Eager to participate in ongoing training opportunities made available by the organization and OEM for development purposes and/or to stay abreast of product or system changes.
