Job Purpose




The Western Cape Mobility Department, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to render administrative support services to the Division Traffic Legislative Matters. The successful incumbent must be able to work under pressure, willingness to work irregular hours and meet tight deadlines.

Minimum Requirements




An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 3-years experience in a traffic legislative matter working environment.

Key Performance Areas




Interpret legislation and give advice to management and members of the public; Facilitate and co-ordinate provincial inputs on legislative matters; Liaison and communication with various clients / stakeholders; Liaison with legal services.

Competencies



Knowledge of the following:

National Road Traffic Act, 1996; Western Cape Provincial Road Traffic Administration Act, 2012; Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), 1999, National Treasury Regulations and Provincial Treasury Instructions; National Road Traffic Regulations, 2000.

Remuneration



R 397 116 - R 467 790 per annum (Salary level 8)





Note on remuneration in addition service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.

Notes




Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. These candidates will be required to do a practical and attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
