The Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences, offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that educates the students across multiple disciplines including Accounting, Finance, Management, Economics, Industrial Psychology (Human Resources Management), Information Systems, Institute for Poverty, Land and Agrarian Studies (PLAAS), Institute for Social Development, Political Studies, School of Government (including Public Administration) and the Academic Literacies Programme.
An opportunity currently exists for candidates to apply for the position of Administrative Officer to provide administrative support to the Extended Curriculum Programme (ECP). Reporting to the ECP Coordinator, the appointee's duties will include, but not limited to, the administration and execution of the following tasks:

  • Academic Administration
  • Marks Administrations
  • Enquiry Management
  • Committee and Meeting Administration
  • Marketing, Branding and Student Recruitment
  • General Office Administration
  • Human Resource Administration
  • Financial Administration
Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12
  • A minimum of 3 years' relevant administrative experience in an Extended Curriculum Programme
Added Advantages:
  • Administrative experience in a Higher Education environment
  • Knowledge of university administrative systems
  • Experience in student tracking
  • Proficiency in computer programmes/software packages, e.g. Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Planning and organising skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Intermediate to expert user of computer office applications
