Job Description

To co-ordinate and control the Department's technical and administrative responsibilities by providing an effective and efficient financial and general administrative service to all components on the centre.
Key Responsibility Areas

  • Co-ordinates the implementation of procedures, systems and controls related to the receiving, updating and recording of transactional/operational information and activities.
  • Receives and processes defects, requisitions and complaints for all building work to be undertaken and maintains a maintenance schedule for all departmental buildings.
  • Processes order numbers for external contractors used, overseeing and approving such work and processes invoices for payment accordingly.
  • Conducts investigations, obtains quotations and places orders as well as maintains a database of all sectional plant and equipment in terms of purchases, servicing, repairs and disposals.
  • Schedules annual license renewals for existing departmental vehicles and ensures that new departmental vehicles are licensed and insured prior commissioning onto service.
  • Processes the de-registration of redundant vehicles and maintains a servicing schedule for all departmental light motor vehicles in conjunction with City Fleet workshop.
  • Manages, develops and monitors the performance and conduct of subordinate staff.
  • Liaises with staff in the section to consolidate, refer and respond to specific problems or clarify procedural interpretation and understanding.

Essential Requirements
  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent and an Administrative certificate or any other related and equivalent certificate.
  • Valid motor vehicle driving license
  • 3 years relevant experience
  • Computer Literacy.
Preferred Requirements
  • Diploma (NQF Level 6) in the Administration field.
  • 4 Years relevant experience.
