Job Description

The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a dynamic individual to supervise the rendering of an effective and efficient Human Resource service for Region 1.
Minimum Requirements
Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification).
Recommendation
A further qualification, course or training certificate in Office Management or Human Resource Management; Appropriate administrative experience; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence. NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply
Key Performance Areas
Implement and administer human resource administration practices (including PERSAL Transactions) concerning conditions of service and service
benefits and or maintenace and provisioning of human resources in the department to contribute to the rendering of a professional Human Resources Managemrent Service; Conditions of Services (Leave, Housing, Medical Aid, Injury on Duty, Terminations, Long Service Recognition, overtime, re-allocation, Pension, Allowances); Recruitment and Selection (Advertisements, Appointments, Transfer, verification of qualifications, secretariat functions at interviews, absorbtions, probationary preriods); Address human resource management enquiries to ensure the correct implementation of human resource management practises; Type letters and/ or correspondence when required.
Competencies
Knowledge of Legislation, Regulations & Public Service rules regarding human resources related. Skills needed: Computer Literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); Flexibility; Typing skills; Planning and organising; Good verbal and written communication (written & verbal); Numeracy; Language; Project management; Information Technology.
Remuneration
R 228 321 - R 268 950 per annum (Salary level 5)
Note on remuneration in addition to service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
Notes
Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. These candidates will be required to complete a practical assessment and attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
