1. Purpose of the Role

The Ad-Hoc Orchestra Crew provides

event-specific technical and logistical support

for CPO rehearsals, concerts, recordings, and special productions. Engagement is

strictly on an ad-hoc basis

, with no guarantee of ongoing work or minimum hours.

, subject to operational needs Acceptance of each assignment is voluntary No expectation of future or continuous engagement is created Crew members may render services to other organisations concurrently
3. Key Responsibilities

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Stage & Equipment Support

Setting up and striking orchestra staging, risers, chairs, music stands, and podiums Assisting with loading, unloading, positioning, and packing of instruments and equipment Ensuring correct stage layout in accordance with production requirements

Performance & Rehearsal Support

Supporting rehearsals, sound checks, and live performances Assisting conductors, musicians, and technical teams as directed Ensuring smooth transitions between programme segments

Venue & Safety Support

Adhering to venue rules, health and safety standards, and production protocols Reporting hazards, damages, or technical issues to the Production Manager Maintaining a safe, orderly backstage and stage environment

General Event Support

Assisting with event-specific operational tasks as required Supporting touring or off-site performances when engaged
4. Working Hours & Scheduling

Working hours vary per engagement and may include evenings, weekends, and public holidays Call times and duration are determined per event No guaranteed number of hours or shifts Payment is calculated

per call-out, per shift, or per event

Driver -

Code 10 will be adventageous and will be paid more.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: R69,55 - R97,37 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 50 per week
