Role Description



We are looking for a proactive and adaptable Ad hoc Marketing Administrator to provide on-demand support to our marketing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys variety in their work, and can step in to support campaigns, communications, and general marketing administration as needed.

This is a remote position; however, candidates must be based within the Cape Town, South Africa area for occasional in-person meetings or team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities



Assist in the preparation of presentations, proposals, and internal communications. Assist in updating marketing materials, website content, and social media channels. Ensure branding consistency across digital and print collateral. Handle day-to-day marketing tasks such as scheduling posts, proofreading, and formatting documents. Provide administrative and coordination support for marketing campaigns and activities. Support remote event planning and coordination (e.g., webinars, podcasts, or similar).

Requirements



Qualifications

: NQF 5 or higher in Marketing, or a related field

Language Proficiency

: Native or fluent English speaker with a neutral accent.

Essential Soft Skills

: Organisational Skills, Communication Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Attention to Detail, Problem-Solving, Adaptability, Creativity & Content Awareness and Proactivity

Technical Skills

: Familiarity with cloud-based software.

Software Expertise

: Competent in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with Marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Canva, WordPress, HubSpot, or similar)

Social Media Expertise

: Experienced using social media and networking sites (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn or similar)

Equipment

: Own laptop / PC (with HD camera), headset, reliable high-speed internet connection (minimum 25Mbps download / 25Mbps upload), UPS / Backup generator

Environment

: Workspace with privacy and minimal noise.

Availability

: Must be available to work between 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM (GMT+2) when required.

Experience



Ability to analyse campaign performance and budget, and suggest optimisations Comfortable using project management tools to track deliverables and deadlines. Experience with CRM segmentation, campaign reporting, and basic automation workflows. Previous experience in a marketing support or administrative role (in-house or agency) Strong copywriting skills and ability to adapt tone across platforms.

Preferred Knowledge (Nice to Have)



Basic knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, or design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite)

Career Path



This is an ad hoc opportunity with the potential to evolve into a permanent role, depending on performance and business needs.

If not obtained already, this role offers the opportunity to develop the Marketing Administrator role with the goal of obtaining the Associate Marketer designation from The Marketing Association of South Africa (MASA).
