Accounts Receivable Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Assistant to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate processing and management of debtor accounts, including invoicing, reconciliations, customer liaison, and general finance administration. This role requires a high level of accuracy, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Generate and distribute customer invoices accurately and timeously. Ensure customer accounts are up to date prior to order dispatch. Perform regular reconciliation of customer (debtor) accounts. Investigate, resolve, and follow up on account discrepancies and disputes. Liaise with customers regarding account queries, statements, and outstanding balances. Ensure approved and updated price lists are correctly applied on the accounting / ERP system. Maintain accurate and up-to-date debtor records and documentation. Assist with internal and external audits as required. Maintain an organised filing system for all accounts receivable documentation. Support the AR & Group Financial Manager with ad hoc finance-related tasks. Assist with stock takes as required. Ensure compliance with company financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Requirements:



Grade 12 (Matric). Relevant finance or accounting qualification advantageous. 2-3 years' experience in an accounts receivable, debtors, or similar finance role. Strong numerical ability with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office applications. Experience working on an accounting or ERP system. Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Own reliable transport required - Essential
