We are seeking an experienced
Accounts Clerk
in Cape Town. The purpose of this role is to maintain accurate financial records, assist with the preparation of financial reports, and reconciliation of bank statements. You will work on accounting software systems to process business transactions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense vouchers, receipts, and disbursements.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Assist with daily debtor processing and reconciliations
Prepare debtor reports and customer statements
Follow up on PODs, outstanding payments, and credit notes
Prepare credit insurance documents
Assist with the processing and capture of supplier invoices and validation of supporting documents
Assist with the maintenance of weekly and monthly creditor reconciliations
Ensure supplier statements, invoices and credit notes are received
Send proof of payment to suppliers
Assist with supplier query resolution
Assist with the process of credit card accounts and support month-end journals (accruals, depreciation, etc.)
Assist with monthly reporting, reconciliations, and basic Excel-based analysis
Maintain an organised filing system and assist with general finance/admin tasks
Address customer and supplier queries with guidance
Perform any other reasonable finance-related tasks assigned by management
Qualifications and Experience:
Grade 12 or equivalent SAQA-approved qualification
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience, OR
A relevant tertiary qualification with 3+ years finance experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
ERP system experience is essential
Experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous
Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
High level of professionalism and integrity
