Financial Accountant - Northern Suburbs, Cape Town Finance | Accounting | Compliance
Full-time | On-site
Our client, based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join their finance team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, with a strong focus on Fixed Assets, Insurance, Stock, VAT, and month-end reporting across the group.
The position requires a strong technical accounting foundation, excellent analytical ability, and the confidence to work closely with the Finance Manager, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
Requirements:

  • Matric
  • BCom Accounting degree or relevant qualification
  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and process depreciation
  • Manage insurance schedules, claims, and related journals
  • Capture and reconcile monthly stock journals
  • Perform bank account management and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Manage fleet card and credit card reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and management accounts
  • Calculate commissions and process related journals
  • Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns and liaise with SARS
  • Support audits and provide assistance to the Finance Manager and finance team
