Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Accountant to be based at the Lichtenburg office. The successful candidate will report to the Regional Financial Controller.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To manage the financial department (Excluding Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll) report locally and globally on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Manage the forecast and AOC (Annual Operating Commitment) process and oversee audits both internal and external, as well as statutory reporting and tax compliance; Manage the hedging process, ensuring that open positions are covered accordingly; Manage PA and Office administration staff. Design and implement processes and procedures. This role requires high attention to detail, high ethical standards and the ability to clearly communicate financial information.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Monitor the companyxe2x80x99s compliance with statutory requirements and other standards.
• Assist company secretary on all Company Act matters.
• Manage the strategic planning process on five-year plan.
• Manage budget process and consolidation.
• Manage financial reporting monthly, quarterly and annually.
• Manage and co-ordinate internal and external audit.
• Manage and prepare year end statutory financial statements and tax returns.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and reports.
• Collate, maintain and review financial and SG&A reports (Selling, General and Admin) including management reporting.
• Collate, maintain and review sustainable cost saving and related reports including management reports.
• Ensure income tax, provisional tax and tax pack preparation and completion.
• Maintain general financial administration.

• Maintain and/or improve standard operating procedures and alignment of personnel to procedures including on the job training/assistance/guidance.
• Manage the financial administration and control functions of Farms and Mechanization.
• Manage the financial administration and control functions of the Seed Store.
• Manage Insurance Claims function.
• Cost Center owner and changes xe2x80x93 SOPxe2x80x99s xe2x80x93 PWC and Internal Audits.
• VAT xe2x80x93 Download reports, reconcile and submit return to SARS on e-filing. Follow up on payment and queries as required.
• Manage IFRS16 Leases.
• Manage the financial administration and financial reconciliations of the Delmas, Marble Hall, Farms, and Springs plants.

EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelorxe2x80x99s Degree in Accounting, Cost Management Accounting (CIMA will advantageous).
• Minimum of 7 yearsxe2x80x99 experience obtained in standard costing systems.
• A comprehensive understanding of IFRS reporting as well as updated knowledge of the Companies Act.
• Suitable experience in financial compliance reporting wiht IFRS
• Thorough understanding of of SA Tax laws
• Advance MS Excel knowledge
• Suitable knowledge of Onestream and SAP
• Experience in preparation and submission of tax returns and SARS query resolutions for income tax.
