Job Description
My client, a manufacturer servicing local and global markets is currently looking to appoint an Accountant. This position is based on the East Rand, Johannesburg. This is a full time office based position.
Qualifications required:
- Matric/Grade 12
- Completed Diploma or Degree in a finance related field will be given preference.
Skills and experience required:
- 2 - 4 yearsxe2x80x99 accounting/bookkeeping experience.
- Experience within the manufacturing industry.
- Experience on Syspro.
- Team player.
- Ability to identify areas for process improvement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Pro-active and willing to help team achieve deadlines.
- Up to date knowledge of VAT regulations and accounting principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Job description:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable ensuring timely invoices and efficient payments and collections.
- Monthly reporting on budget variances.
- Assist in preparing annual financial statements.
- Maintain the fixed asset register.
- General ledger, trial balance, journals and cashbook, intercompany loan accounts.
- Process Tax and VAT submissions.
- Develop and maintain accurate cash flow forecasts.
- Perform regular audits ensuring accurate adherence to compliance standards.
