A leading manufacturing company is looking for an Accountant to join their vibrant finance team.

The Accountant will be responsible for the general accounting including preparing journal entries, maintaining income statements and ledgers, management report, monthly closings, audits and bank recons.

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for the following:
Banking

• Import all bank accounts into MDA and send bank statements to Debtors Employee
• Reconcile all bank recons
• Prepare Standard Bank International payment requests

Payables

• Capture and reconcile all supplier invoices and statements
• Issue purchase orders on request
• Load payment batches on Standard Bank and ABSA, send remittances to suppliers and proof of payments to relevant people

Receivables

• Calculate monthly management fees, invoice all Properties including monthly supplier invoices paid by Construction
• Receipt payments received

Accounting functions

• Prepare Fixed Asset Register updates and journals
• Reconcile all inter-company loan account balances

VAT

• Prepare VAT 201 on e-filing and submit for payment for all entities
• Prepare monthly VAT Input/Output recons for audit purposes
• Submit supporting VAT documentation as requested by SARS in audits

UK Properties

• Import monthly UK Ledgers into MDA
• Supervise the billing of tenants based on UK demands received
• Supervise the receipting of payments received
• Prepare UK Payment batches and Bank forms for approval

Audit requirements

• Prepare audit files for all my entities and assist FM where applicable
• Attend to audit queries

Adhoc

• Reconcile debit card transactions
• Reconcile petty cash
• Fuel spending recons

Qualifications:
Completed Finance degree
Completed SAICA / SAIPA articles

Experience:
Minimum 2 - 5 years post article experience
SAP exposure is preferred
Manufacturing industry is preferred
