Accountant (Automotive Industry)

Our client is looking for a highly organized Accountant to manage the dealership's day-to-day financial operations. Key Responsibilities
Banking & Cash Management
Process daily transactions, reconcile accounts, and manage internet banking payments.
Manage petty cash (payments/receipts) and handle bank deposits for excess cash.
Reconcile CODs and prepare payment documentation for Finance.
Ledger Management (Creditors & Debtors)
Creditors: Process expenses on Automate, reconcile documentation, and ensure all payments are made within terms.
Debtors: Maintain aging within terms, follow up on outstanding payments, issue month-end statements, and resolve customer queries.
Workshop & Operational Support
WIP & Warranty: Monitor and manage documentation flow; conduct regular meetings with the workshop team.
Productivity: Prepare and distribute daily productivity reports to the DP and workshop staff. Collaborate with the Workshop Manager weekly to identify areas for improvement.
Cash Accounts: Receipt payments and resolve queries for Parts and Workshop accounts.
Reporting & Compliance
Daily Operating Control (DOC): Prepare and distribute daily reports; provide proactive financial insights to Department Managers.
Fixed Assets: Maintain the asset register, handle monthly reporting, manage new CAPEX applications, and facilitate audits.
GL Reconciliations: Prepare and maintain clean, accurate Balance Sheet recons.
Financials: Analyze Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Budgets.
Meetings: Prepare comprehensive reports for the Dealer Principal (DP) and lead financial discussions in departmental meetings.
Specialized Tasks
Manage vehicle Maintenance Plan bookkeeping, including invoicing and reporting.
Handle internal creditor recons and payment requests.
Prepare and submit sundry invoices.
Minimum Requirements
Education: BCom Degree in Accounting or a similar financial qualification.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Experience within the Commercial/Automotive Industry at a dealer level is highly advantageous.
Systems: Proficiency in Automate (or similar DMS) is preferred.
License: Valid Code 8 Driver's License.
