Position Overview:
To work with the sales and marketing team to implement the sales strategy to meet the strategic goals and objectives of the organization. For this role, this is achieved through the management of key Ecentric accounts.
Account management includes the building and maintaining of mutually satisfactory relationships at executive level; driving an impactful contribution to both customer and Ecentric growth ambitions; and delivering thought leadership to key account role players.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategy:

  • Provide input to the sales strategy;
  • Provide input to the sales plans; and
  • Provide input into sales budgets.
Sales Management: Key Accounts:
  • Assume accountability for the profitability of allocated accounts;
  • Develop and maintain account plans for allocated accounts;
  • Execute account plans in conjunction with Product and Operations management; and
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key account representatives across seniority tiers.
Sales Management: New Business:
  • Identify and develop new business and sales according to sales plan; and
  • Manage and drive new sales opportunities through the sales process
Business Development:
  • Provide customer and market information to the product and marketing teams;
  • Maintain market, technology and customer knowledge;
  • Contribute to marketing management through occasional contributions to industry blog/newsletters/forums;
  • Participate in marketing activities such as conferences and exhibitions; and
  • Meet agreed KPI's across sales figures, customer relationships, new customers and new markets/partnership development.
Resource Management Systems:
  • Provide input into sales tools, systems and processes.
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Sales growth targets:
  • Sales targets will be agreed with the Sales and Marketing Executive annually;
  • It is expected to be approximately 10% year-on-year growth across the current allocated account base, in addition to CPI growth;
  • These will be in accordance with the company strategy and growth plan;
  • Pipeline coverage: Build and maintain a minimum of three times (3x) target coverage in the Key Account sales pipeline;
  • Administration: Ensure accuracy and completeness of sales forecasts, deal value, billing dates/values, and other admin requirements as determined by the Sales and Marketing Executive; and
  • Personal Relationships: Build and maintain professional and effective relationships with colleagues across the business as well as customers and their representatives.

Qualification and Certification:
A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (e.g., business, sales, marketing).
Years of Experience:
A minimum of 3 years' experience as a sales account manager in banking, financial services, or payments organisation.
Skills and Behavioural Competencies:
  • Strong business understanding;
  • Ability to communicate with senior business executives;
  • Able to operate independently;
  • Strong client relationship management skills and persuasiveness;
  • Ability to develop and compile presentations and tender proposals; and
  • Strategic and conceptual thinker to conceptualize innovative and creative solutions.
