In this exciting role as an Account Manager, you'll achieve & exceed portfolio revenue targets whilst supporting the overall country plan and commercial target by ensuring that Virgin Atlantic's position in the market is protected.


You will source and maintain new and existing corporate business and manage, plan and implement sales activities within a portfolio of corporate and travel management company accounts within Southern Africa. Day to day

  • Accountable for trade and corporate relationships, ensuring that all appropriate opportunities are improved;
  • Identify and strategize targeting potential account opportunities;
  • Understand and collect (aligning with all legislation) market intelligence to find opportunities for VAA;
  • Build and manage relationships with companies within the portfolio and passengers, along with all levels across departments of VAA, to ensure cross-functional collaboration where vital.
  • Liaise with the Global Sales Team, especially in the areas of GMNA and bilateral relationships where there is existing Country/Regional point of sale activity. Ensure this revenue is protected and grown, and use the relationships locally and globally.
  • Responsible for implementing and monitoring TMC and corporate plans and their ongoing development based on market conditions.
  • Ensure up-to-date Sales plans with clear objectives and activity plans to support the sales targets.
  • Ensure that there is coordinated sales activity to support quarterly reviews for accounts falling behind on revenue targets, periodical visibility in national markets (where appropriate) and assistance in new business activation plans.
  • Focus on revenue targets and initiate plans to drive any gaps in revenue based on the monthly reporting
About you

Do you have proven sales experience with a strong corporate travel background? Do you have experience and knowledge of travel trade distribution? Then this could be the role for you!


Alongside the above, we're looking for the following to be successful in your application:
  • Demonstrable ability to influence at the boardroom/Senior Management Level
  • Analytically minded with great presentation skills.
  • Adaptable and a strong team collaborator who can work under pressure.
  • Established experience working with large customer/supplier accounts and ensuring revenue delivery to contractual targets/service delivery to contractual expectations.
  • Excellent judgment and ability to quickly identify and accurately evaluate revenue and sales opportunities.
  • Ability to achieve all targets against set objectives
  • The right to live and work in South Africa
