Position Overview



The Account Manager is responsible for managing client relationships, overseeing the factoring process from onboarding through ongoing service, and ensuring the financial health of assigned accounts. This role requires a blend of client service skills, financial acumen, and risk management awareness. The Account Manager acts as the main point of contact for SME clients who use invoice factoring to support cash flow, ensuring smooth operations, compliance, and client satisfaction.


Qualifications & Skills



Essential:


Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 3-5 years' experience in financial services, invoice factoring, asset-based lending, or credit management. Strong understanding of debtor finance, cash flow cycles, and credit risk. Excellent communication, negotiation, and client service skills. Proficiency with financial systems, CRM software, and MS Office. Needs to be fluent in both written and spoken Mandarin and English?

Key Responsibilities



Client Relationship Management Serve as the primary liaison for assigned SME clients, maintaining strong relationships and providing high-quality customer service. Educate clients on factoring processes, terms, and compliance requirements. Proactively address client queries, concerns, and funding requests. Conduct regular check-ins and reviews to support client retention and growth. Operations & Account Administration Manage daily funding requests and approvals in line with credit limits and facility terms. Monitor assigned client portfolios for overdue debtors, disputes, and credit risks. Ensure accurate documentation and processing of invoices submitted for factoring. Collaborate with internal teams (credit, legal, finance) to resolve client or debtor issues.

Risk & Compliance



Monitor debtor payment performance and highlight potential defaults or fraud indicators. Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, KYC, AML, and regulatory requirements. Prepare reports on client account performance, collections, and funding activity. Business Development Support Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional services (bridging finance, trade finance, etc.). Support the sales team during client onboarding and contract negotiations. Provide feedback from clients to improve service offerings and processes.

Desirable:



Experience working with SMEs in construction, logistics, or related industries. * Knowledge of South African/National Credit Act, AML regulations, and financial compliance frameworks.
