Job Description

  • Current registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse
  • Nursing Education and / or Assessors Qualification
  • Master's qualification is preferred
  • Grade 12
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience as a Nurse Educator, Clinical Facilitator
  • Curriculum development experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of scope of practice of all Nursing categories as well as the regulations of the South African Nursing Council
  • Working knowledge of the South African Higher Education regulatory framework
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks with deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work both independently and as a team member
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Assist with the formulation and implementation of teaching and learning activities related to nursing staff development.
  • Ensure that all teaching and learning content is current, evidence-based, risk based and aligned with advances in healthcare and educational best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures in alignment with legislative frameworks and Melomed requirements.
  • Formulation, design and implementation of SANC CPD programme.
  • Development of clinical competencies.
  • Assist in coordinating the planning, accreditation, and implementation of educational programmes in compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee the development, review, and continuous improvement of curricula.
  • Develop micro curriculum frameworks, study guides, teaching and learning materials, and supporting documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Review teaching, learning, and assessment strategies to ensure academic excellence.
  • Provide academic support and contribute to staff and student development and success.
  • Monitor student performance and provide feedback or analysis on results.
  • Develop and maintain college year planners, study schedules, and other academic support structures.
  • Participate in or formulate relevant academic committees e.g., review committees.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and all applicable legislative and regulatory requirements.
