AA/EE Payroll Officer Finance ~ HR
Durban - KwaZulu Natal - South Africa
Our client, a giant in their field, is a well-known South African listed company, has an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Officer to join their Human Resources team in Durban.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Payroll, Human Resources, or equivalent
- Driver's License
- 5 years' experience in payroll or bookkeeping
- Experience in Payroll Systems is essential
- Ability to work methodically, accurately, & neatly with a process-driven attitude
- Able to meet deadlines, ability to juggle multiple tasks & to prioritise workload
- Strictly confidential & ethical nature
- Ability to work on spreadsheets & manage data
- Good interpersonal & co-ordination skills - ability to form working relationships with people at all levels
- Solid understanding of HR best practices & Labour Law
- Show initiative
- Payroll & benefit administration
- Send all payroll related changes to the company payroll is outsourced to
- Ensure all payroll changes have been made before the payroll deadline
- Ensure the payroll Masterfile is kept up to date
- Calculate payroll changes when required
- Preparation of promotion & increase letters
- Monitor & analyse overtime
- Handle communication between the pension fund & employees
- Ensure compliance with labour acts
- Manage audit enquiries
- Handle employees' exit processes
- Administration of long service benefits
- Monitoring of the attendance registers daily
- Balance all payroll ledger accounts
- Prepare payroll reports
- End of month payroll processing
