Technical Assistant: Medical Laboratory Science (P10) Bloemfontein Campus

Main purpose of the job

To provide technical support, and to monitor and maintain laboratories / workshops, equipment, and inventory.

Main tasks

1. Maintain laboratories / workshops, equipment, inventory and storerooms

2. Purchase relevant equipment / inventory

3. Marketing

4. Health and safety

5. Academic administration

6. Technical academic support

Permanent Support

Minimum salary scale

(Total Cost to Company)

R485 534 per annum

(2024 Salary Scales to be determined)

Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or

Experience

xc2xb7 BTech Biomedical Technology/ BHSc Medical Laboratory Sciences

xc2xb7 2 years experience as a Medical Technologist in Clinical Pathology

xc2xb7 Registered with HPCSA as a Medical Laboratory Scientist

Desired Qualification, Knowledge and/or Experience

xc2xb7 Knowledge of SA Occupational Health and Safety Act

xc2xb7 Qualified Medical Technologist in Clinical Pathology registered with HPCSA

xc2xb7 Evidence of progress towards a Masters/Doctorate
