Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled engineer to work in the engine room as 2nd engineer on board of a cutter dredger and or backhoe dredger , This role involves working internationally on non-self-propelled vessels including smaller cutters and backhoes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintenance and repairing on deck and in the engine room Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and conduct routine maintenance and repairs of mechanical systems and equipment on deck and engine room
• Collaborate with other crew members to ensure the smooth operation of the vessel.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Ensure compliance with maritime safety regulations and standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to other team members.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and repairs.
• Participate in emergency response drills and actual emergencies as required.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer or Deck ( barge ) Mechanic, preferably in maritime operations is advantageous.
• Relevant certification in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Valid Basic Safety training in accordance to STCW regulations. BOSIET not accepted

Rotation Schedule:

• This position operates on a rotation of 6 weeks with 12-hour days.
