Are you a creative and innovative designer with a passion for luxury homeware products? We are seeking talented 2D Product Designers to join our dynamic team at our Carrol Boyes Head Office in Paarden Eiland. As part of our Art division, you will collaborate with our creative team to expand on our soft furnishings and dining categories, leveraging your expertise in 2Design and illustration.

Responsibilities:

• Enhance our catalogue of beloved designs and utilize your 2D design skills to create captivating 3D surface decorations for homeware applications.
• Develop new or redevelop products based on range reviews, creating technical drawings, renderings, and illustrations.
• Utilize software such as Rhino3D, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Procreate to execute designs.
• Manage the entire process from development to sourcing of finished products, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring the highest level of product standards.
• Source manufacturers, negotiate prices, and establish specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate with the Graphics Department on the packaging, labeling, and other product-related materials.
• Provide feedback to manufacturers on technical issues and quality concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma and/or bachelorxe2x80x99s degree or relevant tertiary qualification in Graphic Design, Surface Design, Product Design, or related fields.
• 3-5+ years of experience with the ability to conceptualize design, and illustrate and possess a keen eye for colour, form, and detail.
• Experience in 2D and applied design, sourcing, and procurement from suppliers, and overseeing sampling and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of the homeware industry, market trends, and a variety of materials and graphic application techniques, is advantageous.
• Project management skills, including overseeing the entire product lifecycle from conception to market readiness.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is essential, and knowledge of Procreate and other software is a plus.

• Advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with moderate proficiency in computer-assisted design (CAD) software. Demonstrateable skills in illustration - essential.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to creative challenges.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, working effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Aesthetic design sense with a good understanding of colour science and combinations.
• Ability to interpret and develop other artists' designs while maintaining their style.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and business writing proficiency.
• Proactive, results-focused, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrates personal integrity, business ethics, and values.
• Ability to receive feedback and incorporate it into designs.
