The main purpose of this position is to provide personal administrative support and assistance to the management of the Durban Cash Centre of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB), and act as the first point of contact for callers to the cash centre.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
Manage and maintain the Cash Centre Manager's diary.
Coordinate and oversee logistical arrangements for appointments and travel for cash centre management, in liaison with relevant personnel.
Receive, screen and respond to incoming telephone calls using own initiative and, where appropriate, handle queries and/or route calls to the correct individuals.
Prepare and edit correspondence, communications, presentations and other documents, conducting basic research and analysis (where necessary, while maintaining strict confidentiality in all matters related to the Cash Centre Manager's Office.
Review the operating practices in own area and implement improvements where necessary.
Maintain positive internal and external relationships on behalf of the cash centre management, engaging with stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
Create and maintain a contact database for the cash centre management as well as a filing system in accordance with the SARB File Plan.
Operate the switchboard, which includes answering incoming calls, greeting callers, providing information, transferring calls, and taking and relaying messages, as necessary.
Place telephone calls and arrange telephone or videoconference calls as instructed.
Perform administrative duties for the cash centre, such as typing, photocopying, data capturing, placing and accepting orders, stationery requisition and stock management, records management, asset management, taking minutes, and sorting mail.
Assist with examining the relevant cash departments and with vault responsibilities as required.
