Corner Grill has the following vacancy within the Operations Department and encourages suitable qualified candidates to apply:Position : Restaurants Operations and Maintenance Manager Reports : Business Development Manager Primary Purpose: This position primary responsibility Is ensuring organizational effectiveness by providing leadership for restaurants' operational functions. The Incumbent Is expected to contribute to the development and Implementation of organizational strategies, policies and procedures in the regular operations of all the Corner Grill Restaurants. Also, to work hand in hand with Corner Grill Management and Head Office Support Team In ensuring the success of the organization. The Operations Manager is responsible for the management of capital assets and human resources and for the supervision of IT and administrative staff.Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric/Grade 12
  • Degree or Diploma in Business Administration
  • Hospitality Management
  • Working understanding of restaurant operations with 3 to 5 years' experience
  • A keen understanding of KPI's food cost, budgets, Profit and Loss reports.
  • A keen understanding of business planning and strategy and ability to execute such planning.
  • A keen understanding of in stores audits (Admin, full store and training)
  • Ability to scrutinize stock management checks.
  • Proven work experience as a Restaurant Operations Manager, Restaurant Manager, Restaurant General Manager, Hospitality Manager or similar role.
  • Proven Customer service experience as a manager.
  • Extensive food and beverage (F&B) knowledge.
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software.
  • Strong leadership, motivational and people's skills.
  • Acute financial management skills.
  • Valid drivers' license with own reliable car Is essential
  • Experience in financial management systems, budget preparation and reporting
  • Experience in a managerial role, including managing staff, projects and partnerships
  • Well developed IT / computer literacy skills including databases
  • Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain strategic partnerships and relationships
  • Well developed problem-solving, information analysis and evaluation skills.
  • Demonstrated cultural respect and understanding of issues facing culturally diverse communities
  • Experience in operations and facility management
  • Capacity to work flexible hours, including weekend work when required.
Key Priorities and Duties: Operations and General Responsibilities: Develop, Maintain and Implement Corner Grill Menu Database and Operations Manual. Ensure that the Database is set correct so as to mitigate any stock and operationalchallenges that might arise. Set daily in-stores targets in accordance with Head Office store targets and forecast. Communication targets with team and encourage results driven outcomes. Actively assist in Daily Front of House and Back of House operations. Ensure all training is executed in accordance with Corner Grill Warehouse and RestaurantsStandard Operating Procedure Manuals. Work closely with Business Development Manager and marketing team in identifying andcreating new business opportunities. Ensure business campaigns are executed at store level. Ensure all Corner Grill system, processes and procedures are compliant with SOP. Liaise with management team in the form of regular management meetings on alladministrative goals, processes and results. Constant one on one with Key employees. Consistently update the system requirements. Update the Micros stock control lists. Accurately acquiring and analyzing reports. Maintain a code of ethics as per SOP / disciplinary code. Maintain and ensure food quality by setting strong goals for kitchen staff, creatingexcitement and encouraging creativity amongst staff. Maintain the organizational performance monitoring system Maintain a Policy and Procedures Manual Ensure health, safety and environment compliance of all operation activities Coordinate building maintenance and cleaners and ensure appropriate acquisition ofresources Prepare operational reporting for executive meetingsFinancial Management: Review and provide feedback on annual Corner Grill Warehouse and Restaurants budgetsas well as quarterly forecast. Seeks to improve Gross Profit through following all stock issuing and counting procedures,investigating and reporting on all variances, ensuring all security measures are beingfollowed and invoices are being checked upon receipt. Execute restaurants KPIs on a weekly/ monthly basis and implement actions steps whenrequired. Review Profit and Loss monthly with Business Development Manager and managementteam and document Action Plan in the form of: Strategy to Improve Financial Performance. Work with POS and Managers/Supervisors to ensure all Cash and Stock Systems are beingadhere to. Ensure procurement procedures as per SOP, including processing invoices and recon ondaily financials. Ensure sound budget management practices within operations environment Maintain all financial archives and records as required by law.Customer Services: Ensure a strong focus on Legendary Customer Service. Work with Business Development Manager to ensure timely follow up to all customercomplaints. Regular follow up on Service Evaluations to ensure service levels are consistentlyimproved. Coordinate Legendary Customer Service trainings to ensure all employees are certifiedwithin first three months. Maintains a calm exterior during times of high pressure and acts in a professional mannerwhen confronted with tough situations and role models the same.Planning and Execution: Implement company and restaurant programs and projects by working directly withmanagement team to execute actions plans that meet operational requirements. Communicate clearly, concisely and accurately to ensure effective restaurant operations. Utilizes all forms of communications (i.e Handover Book, Communication Boards andManagement and Pre-Shift Meetings).Training and Development: Active involvement with all Training Plans for all new and existing employees. Follow up on training standards for all employees. Review Personal Development Plans for all management teams and ensure growthopportunities for all employees. Monitor team moral and be sensitive to individual's needs (always balancing what is right for the person with what is right for the businessCompliance: Manage compliance with legal obligations arising from relevant legislation in terms of healthand safety, environment and labour related activities Ensure Corner Grill Restaurant Franchise Agreement Compliance with all our franchisee.
