Reporting to Operations Director of the Regional office, this position will be responsible to manage regular Regional Operations & assist the DRO Operations Director to Improve efficiencies in following Key Results Areas . PIC is required to maintain highest level of operational standards and integrity befitting CMA CGM Group image based on Management guidance

Key Results Areas:

  • Overall assistance in efficiently Monitoring, Controlling and Managing the CMA CGM Group's Marine, Terminal & Agency Operations activities defined by DRO Management / HO OPSDIR & formally delegated for the Regions under the DRO scope
  • To maintain a thorough understanding of Group Operational processes, procedures, KPIs and ensure all Agents under DRO scope are trained to & follow the set guidelines. To review, adapt and define SOPs based on HO / OPS Unification guidelines & Local best practices
  • Primarily to ensure all Group Ships calling within Regional Ports are operationally well served and Group allocations are well fulfilled without exception
  • Support and assistance in identifying, monitoring and controlling all aspects of Operational expenses to deliver Cost efficiencies under DRO scope
  • Maintain constructive and cordial relationships with all DRO scope Ports and Terminals to ensure Group interests are well protected as desired including full awareness of the market intelligence related to ports & terminals
  • Fully familiar with Group OPS applications and be responsible for accurate technical data updates, Agents knowledge & assist HO Nautical Studies Department on related studies

The scope of activity will include, but not limited to following:


  • Negotiate, secure, modify all Regional Berth Windows as per Group Lines / DRO requirements
  • Review weekly target game plans with all Agents / Terminals to ensure Group needs well covered
  • Follow up with BOA (Berth on arrival) / Performance, contingency actions & regular reporting
  • Anticipate potential contingencies including own vessel clashes, Partner conflicts, port Congestions and directly intervene / provide alternate solutions
  • High focus on difficult Ports with recurring problems, visit analyse, coordinate with HO for solutions
  • Conduct weekly / monthly performance analysis of all ports and report on agreed KPI achievements & areas for improvements
  • Conduct performance reviews with Terminals (as CC Group + as Consortium) periodically
  • High focus on stowage quality, interact OPS Managers / LTP Team for long term efficiencies
  • Submit periodical Executive Terminal reports for the benefit of HO OPS / DRO Management


  • Oversee cargo readiness, monitor Hub & TS to ensure vessel optimization, efficient TS connectivity, Lowest dwell time & Regional MTY evacuation
  • Ensure Agency TS teams follow group best practices in connectivity accuracy, FIFO, priority criteria, Dwell time, cost avoidance (Re-nom / Storage) and timely journey leg updates etc
  • High coordination between OPS, TS & Terminals for tight connections / Terminal ITT issues
  • Coordinate with HO cargo-flow to ensure space available on all services are maximized. If overflow build up on Mainline services, intervene with Line Management for workable solutions
  • Monthly volume reports to DRO Management with comments justifying monthly fluctuations
  • Special focus on cargo bound for XXXXXXXXX


  • Identifying cost causes and tracking cost events as per DIROPS guidelines for cost prevention
  • Monitor ships OPS and cargo readiness closely for prevention of costs related to Penalties, Idle time, Overtime, COV, Shut out, Storage and RFF Monitoring
  • Close coordination with Agency teams, Line CGF to prevent COV, shut out, late changes
  • Demand for and review, query weekly costs, incident reports generated by Agents for control
  • Reconcile MGAs, review monthly UCR provided by Costs control for explanations / validations
  • Weekly follow up of OPS costs savings, update in GAIN and review monthly Agility progress


  • Work with OPS / TS Agency staff regularly to gauge / improve competencies & efficiencies
  • Maintain close overview of Agencies Costs related to Operations / TS for improvements
  • Maintain data / KPIs and regular reviews regarding vessel OPS / OPS cost KPI per location
  • Assist Agencies whenever required related to OPS / Vessel 3rd party damages / claims

Skill sets, Educational & Experience criteria

  • A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Shipping or Master Mariner / Chief Officer Certification
  • Minimum 10 Year's Operational Management experience in Container Shipping Industry
  • Minimum 05 Years as Ship Manager + 05 Years port based Container OPS Management

  • Prior experience in similar capacity / or high-level exposure to Terminal activity preferred
  • Should possess high-level understanding of Operational costs
  • Should be highly focused, analytical, dedicated and result driven
  • Should be proficient in MS Office application & adaptable to software applications
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, ability to work in French language will be an advantage
