Job Description

Job title: Learning and Development Manager Location: Johannesburg

Our client requires the services of a Learning and Development Manager in the Human Capital Development department at our Johannesburg Head Office. The incumbent will manage and align the L&D department in accordance with Company's Strategy in terms of Human Capital objectives by efficiently and effectively optimizing the utilization L&D Assets i.e. facilities and personnel.
Comply with legislative requirements thereof to produce highly competent workforce that meets the skills demand and requirements of the organization. Ensure effective implementation of the strategies and policies in Learning and Development.
Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Implement the capacity building strategy linked to the Company's objectives and regional requirements in relation to the Strategy
  • Draw, manage and execute training plans within the legislative and business requirements
  • Facilitate all Company's training initiatives in terms of induction, change management, internal product and system in support of a continuous innovative culture in Company
  • Compile and Manage the Capex and Opex budget to make training financially viable.
  • Manage General and Technical Training functions
  • Align training strategies and objectives to Company and Human Capital Strategies and Objectives
  • Conclude SLA's and maintain a sound business relationships with internal customers to protect and improve the organization.
  • Manage General and Technical Training resources and facilities to ensure efficiency and effectiveness running of the business to meet client's needs.
  • Attend the CIB meetings and be involved with strategic decisions in terms of capacity building and meet with the internal stakeholders in project meetings
  • Maintain an ISO 9001:2015 certification in support of a quality mind set culture and Company Way behaviour
  • Manage projects related to curriculum and material development
  • Perform all the Skills Development Facilitator Functions in support of the Company's mandate
  • Manage bursaries and study loans
  • Ability to conduct and analyse Training Needs, Compile and Manage the WSP, ATR and optimize grants recoveries (also a legislative requirement)
  • Manage Learnership programmes
  • Manage the Learning Management System

Qualifications, experience and competencies required:
Degree in ETDP or Human Resources 4-6 years working experience as a L&D manager Understanding of the SETA landscape Sound Knowledge of legislation: Sectorial Determination, Skills Development Act, Skills Development Levy Act, BBBEE Code Knowledge of Assessment and Moderation Principles Knowledge of National Skills Development III Strategy Good interpersonal skills Financial Acumen Analytical and problem solving Excellent Communication Skills Facilitation, Assessment and Moderation skills Knowledge of Change Management competencies Basic knowledge of Project Management principles Must be highly proficient in Microsoft office suite Willing to travel nationally Valid driver's licence
